Introduction: Conflicting results have been reported between the use of conventional protocol MRI and advanced protocol MRI to avoid unnecessary histopathology when Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is used for the diagnosis of Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC). Therefore, we aimed to compare the diagnostic performance of conventional MRI and advanced technique MRI to avoid unnecessary histopathology. Methods: Original studies reporting the diagnostic performance of MRI for the diagnosis of HCC published between January 2010 and February 2021 were identified in Literature search.
