Aim and background: Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a type of mental disorder that causes discomfort and anxiety among those who suffer from this. The aim of this study was to assess glutathione peroxidase enzyme activity, oxidative stress index, and other biochemical parameters in the serum of persons with OCD. Material and Methods: In this study, the patient group consisted of 26 people with OCD, and the control group consisted of 26 healthy people. The parameters glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), oxidative stress index (OSI), Selenium (Se), Catalase (CAT), total antioxidant status (TAS), Superoxide dismutase (SOD), Malondialdehyde (MDA), and Total oxidant status (TOS) were evaluated in both groups.
